Viola Fern Jacobsen Mosher, 77, of Sioux City died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at a Sioux City nursing home following a brief illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trimble United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kate Bell officiating. Burial will be in Ida Grove Cemetery, Ida Grove, Iowa. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mrs. Mosher was born Jan. 11, 1921, in Ida Grove, the daughter of Roy and Vera (Hanks) Nelson.
She married Martin Jacobsen on Aug. 28, 1938, in Onawa, Iowa. He died Aug. 4, 1970, in Ida Grove.
She married Frank Mosher on June 26, 1985, in Elk Point, S.D. He died July 26, 1985, in Sioux City.
She had lived in Ida Grove for many years and in Chandler, Ariz., for two years. She had lived in Moville, Iowa, for four years and moved to Sioux City 13 years ago.
She was employed with Harrison Green House in Sioux City for several years.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Douglas and Linda Jacobsen of Portland, Ore.; a daughter and her husband, Virginia and Dwayne Hesse of Sioux City; a brother, Harold Nelson of Gladstone, Ore.; a sister and her husband, Etta and Floyd Brock of Auburn, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, Steven, Bryan, Martin, Douglas, Donald and Richard Hesse, Rhonda Dickinsen, Sheri Miller and Rusty, Willie, Penny and Ralph Jacobsen; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Helen and Maize Jacobsen, both of Ida Grove, and Ruth Ward of Lebonon, Tenn.; a special friend, Shelby Harder of Westfield, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and her parents.
Pallbearers will be Steven, Bryan, Martin, Douglas, Donald, Richard and Dustin Hesse and Willie Jacobsen.
