Miss Emily Park went to Colorado to teach with Bessie Henry, and they moved to Hood River, Oregon together. Their deep enduring friendship followed then their whole lives and into their death. They never married and were best friends to the end.

Miss Henry was a highly educated woman who advocated for "free" kindergartens in Colorado. Emily Park was a lifelong friend and compatriot.

Bessie Henry died of pneumonia.

Emily Park died the same day of suicide by cyanide, because she couldn't live with out her best friend Bessie.
