Brenda Belk Brewer, 67, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at her residence. Mrs. Brewer was born in Charlotte, N.C. on October 12, 1942, the daughter of the late William Harold Belk and Iva Faye Kennedy Belk.

She grew up in Charlotte, was a graduate of Central High School, and attended Central Piedmont Community College. Mrs. Brewer moved to Pawleys Island a number of years ago and was a retired employee of Georgetown County 911. She was a volunteer with Midway Fire Dept.

Mrs. Brewer was predeceased by her husband, Danny Andrews Culbertson; a son, Thomas "Tonnie" Art Allen, Jr.; and a brother, G. Steven Belk.

Surviving are two sons, Carl F. Brewer, Jr. of Charlotte, N.C. and J. Glenn Brewer of Fairhope, Ala.; two brothers, Kenneth W. Belk of Mooresville, N.C. and James H. Belk of Midland, N.C.; and four grandchildren, Emily Brewer, Ava Brewer, Jewel Brewer, and Gage Michael Kottmann.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, November 7, 2009, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Don Williams. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, November 9, 2009, at Graceland Cemetery West in Greenville. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronnie Williams.

The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home prior to the service Saturday afternoon, November 7, 2009, from 2 to 3 p.m. and at The Wood Mortuary in Greer Sunday evening, November 8, 2009, from 6 to 7:30 p.m..
