John Adams (my great-great grandfather) was born in Albany County, New York. His parents were Michael Adams and Catherine Litchfield. He married Katharine "Kate" Anny Johnson on Sept 21, 1870 at the Delmar Reformed Church in Delmar, Albany County, New York.
They had four children - Maria "Rita" Bell Adams (my great grandmother), Katharine "Kitty" Adele Adams, Rose Eleanor Adams and Alvene "Allen" Adams. Kitty and Rose (and their spouses) are buried in the same lot in this cemetery with their father, John Adams.
His other children, Rita and Allen, are buried back in Albany County, NY. His wife Kate died 25 Apr 1906 in West Albany, Albany County, New York and is buried in Albany Rural Cemetery.
Most of his life in New York, he is listed as a farmer in the Bethlehem/New Scotland area of Albany County, NY. According to his death cert, John moved to Los Angeles, California with his daughters, Rose and Kitty, along with Kitty's husband Harris Hallenbeck about 1916. In the 1920 Federal census, he is listed living with his daughter Rose in Los Angeles and is the owner of a confectionary store. He lived with his daughter Rose and her husband, Arthur MacDougall, until his death in 1938.
