Mrs. Tommye Jackson was born on June 7, 1908 in Decator, Texas. She moved from there to Plainview with her parents in 1912. She attended Plainview public schools and Wayland Baptist College and taught in public schools for 35 years in Plainview and the surrounding area.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pink Ladies, Delphin Club and Eastern Star.
The former Tommye Thomas was married to Joe Jackson in June 1959.
She was preceded in death by her father, K. Darnall Thomas and her mother, Maggie Prigmore Thomas.
Survivors include her husband, one brother, H.K. Thomas of Midland, four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Little of Plainview, Mrs. Glenna Taylor of Decator, Mrs. Clyde Cole of Dallas and Mrs. Margarete Hall of Tulia.
