Obituary: THE DEATH OF H. SHUMAKER-End Comes Unexpectedly To Well Known Atchison County Man-Harry Shumaker, 75, well known Atchison County farmer, died unexpectedly at 8 o'clock this morning as he was working in the barn on his farm south of Atchison. Death resulted from a stroke of apoplexy. Mr. Shumaker had eaten a hearty breakfast and was apparently in the best of health.
Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2;30 o'clock at the home. Burial will be in the Sumner cemetery, Pallbearers will be Will Eiche, James Servaes, Roy Lister, Henry Eiche, Bert Raulston and Charles Ehret.

Mr. Shumaker had lived practically all of his life in Atchison county. He was born May 5, 1859, at Keokuk, Iowa, but he came to Atchison with his parents, the late Peter and Elizabeth Shumaker, when but a small boy. They lived here for a short time and then moved to a farm , where Harry Shumaker was reared.
Mr. Shumaker married on Christmas day, 1884, Miss Pauline Reichle, at Sumner. Mrs. Shumaker survives as do three sons, Roy, Edwin and Frank; two daughters, Mrs. Albert Hanf, and Miss Elsie Shumaker, all of whom live south of Atchison; one brother, Will Shumaker, Yale, Okla., and seven grandchildren.(Src: The Atchison Daily Globe, Monday, April 18, 1932).l of his life in Atchison county.
