SUFFOLK -- Stachi Balon Butler, 84, died Dec. 24, 1999, in her home.
She was born Aug. 24, 1915, in Burlington, N.J. She was a member of the Church of St. Therese. Mrs. Butler was the daughter of the late Wicenty Balon and Katryn Babiec Balon. Her husband, Benjamin F. Butler Jr., and a son, Benjamin Butler III, predeceased her.
A Christian wake service and visitation will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Church of St. Therese, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Robert L. Cummins. Interment will follow at Portsmouth Catholic Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a reception at the Church of St. Therese after interment.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Church of St. Therese Building Fund, 4137 Portsmouth Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23321.
