Mildred Illene Greene, 86, of Tishomingo, Mississippi, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. She was retired from Genesco Shoe Company. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and reading the Bible.
Visitation is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. until service time at Tishomingo Baptist Church on Thursday. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, at the Tishomingo Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Ed Mitchell. Interment will follow in Tishomingo Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Tommy Frederick, Charles South, Jerry McNatt, Ronnie Greene, Jimmy Trussell, Jeremy Greene, and Noonan Greene.
Survivors include her husband, W. T. Green of Tishomingo, MS; 2 sons, Harold Greene (Lou) of Corinth, MS, and Jerry Don Greene (Diane) of Denton, TX; 2 sisters, Marjorie Stephens of Fulton, MS, and Hester Sartain of Tupelo, MS; 4 grandchildren, Tammy Bonds (Mike) of Tishomingo, MS, Mark Greene (Phyliss) of Florence, AL, Shelly Pershing (Dan) of Lantana, TX, and Jeremy Greene (Brook) of Memphis, TN; and 5 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Greene, Reese Pershing, and Everett and Emery Greene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Eliza South; a brother, Melvin South; and 3 sisters, Lorene Gortney, Gertie Byram, and Nellie Deaton.
