Born Friday, September 27, 1918 in Porter, Jefferson County, Pa he was the son of William Mathias Sherry and Clara Shaffer Sherry.
Bill was a retired self-employed salesman. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a life member of New Bethlehem Lodge # 522 F & AM and was a Past Master. Mr. Sherry was also a member of the Coudersport Consistory. He was a vetern of the US Army and WW II, serving with the 95th Infantry. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was being with his fmaily.
Mr. Sherry is survived by his wife, June W. Rugh Sherry whom he married on July 28, 1938, one daughter Mrs. Ronald L (Sonnie) Sloniger of Butler, Pa; two sons, Richard M (Dick) Sherry of Indiana, Pa. William R. (Bill) Sherry of Butler, Pa; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Lula Sherry Smith and Pearl Sherry Womeldorf and two brothers, Cliff Sherry and Lewis Sherry.
Friends were received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc, Butler, Pa. Funeral services were held at the First Untied Methodist Church in Butler with Reverend J. David Panther and Mr. William Gumpper of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment in Lawn Haven Memorial Park, Worthington, PA
