1st Lt. George Hunter was one of four United States Army Air Force pilots killed in a midair collision near Lake Pleasant, Arizona while filming a fight scene for the Warner Bros. film "God Is My Co-Pilot."

Also killed were 2nd Lt. Orland L. Luhr, 2nd Lt. Patrick J. Holland and Sgt. James Ramey.
