Funeral services for Mrs. A. VanderSchaaf will be held Monday instead of Saturday as previously announced. Services at 1:45 p.m. will be held at the home of her son, William VanderSchaff, in the Holland settlement, and the body will be taken to the Holland church, where services will be held at two o'clock.

Note: Antje Kuperus was born 2 May 1845 in Winsum, mun. Baarderadeel (since 1984 part of mun. Littenseradiel), Friesland, NL. Parents: Douwe Jans Kuperus and Jetske Jelles Hofstra.

On 23 November 1872 Antje married in Hennaard to the five years older Wybe Jacobs van der Schaaf. Between July 1873 and August 1888 Antje and her husband got in Hennaard and Winsum twelve children: Jetske, Jacob, Douwe, Hielkje, Jan, Trijntje, Geertje, Willem, Jelle, Sjouke, Pieter, and Sjouke Pieter. Jetske died in 1890 at the age of 16 years, Trijntje in 1888 at the age of 8 years, Sjouke also in 1888 at the age of 3 years, Pieter in 1887 at the age of 1 year, and Sjouke Pieter in 1891 at the age of 2 years.

On 23 March 1896, Antje arrived with her husband, Wybe van der Schaaf, and their seven children Jacob (21 y, painter), Douwe (20 y, carpenter), Hietje (18 y), Jan (16 y, baker), Geertje (14 y), Willem (12 y) and Jelle (11 y) on the SS Maasdam at New York, Ellis Island. Their destination is Passaic County in New Jersey. Five children died in the Netherlands prior to immigrating to America: Jetske Wybes (b. 26 August 1873, d. 14 July 1890); Trijntje (b. 19 March, 1880, d. 09 April 1888); Sjouke (b. 30 September 1884, d. 24 March 1888); Pieter (b. 04 August 1886, d. 18 October 1887); Sjouke Pieter (b. 23 July 1888, d. 07 May 1891).
