The profile sketch was drawn from a photograph which was taken of a painting of him. The painting was on a board which was in the possession of son Peter who found it by accident 140 years after it was drawn. There was a sketch of Joachin's wife also.

Here rests the remains of the former well known Joachim Nagel. He was born February 21, 1706, and died July 26, 1795 being 89 years 5 months and 5 days.
Joachim Nagel I am named
My life is in God's hands.
