Elmer Paul "Bud" Reynolds, eldest son of the late Harry H. and May Reynolds, was born Oct. 29, 1914 in Leon, Iowa, and died Feb. 6, 1983 of a heart attack at Fremont Hospital, Marysville, Ca., age 68.
A native of Leon, Iowa, he had lived in the Yuba Sutter area for 25 years, and was a retired Warden for the State Fish and Game department of California. A Navy veteran of World War II, Bud was a Storekeeper on the Arizona at Pearl Harbor and escaped its fate by being on shore leave at the time of the Japanese attack.
He had been an elder in the First Presbyterian Church, past president of the Twin Cities Rod and Gun Club, past president of the Knights Landing Lions Club, past Elk of the Year with the Marysville Elks Lodge, a member of the Twin Cities Peace Officers Association and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include widow Eva Gay; two children: daughter Gay Sellers, Marysville, son Robert Reynolds, Clark Air Force Base, Philippine Islands; son-in-law; daughter-in-law; 4 grandchildren; stepmother Jessie Reynolds, Leon, Iowa; brother, Max Reynolds, Martensdale, Iowa; five sisters; Nadine Baker and Retha McLain, Des Moines, Iowa; Edith Franklin, Winchester, IL., Iva Robertson, Benton City, Wa; Dolly Sissel, Falmouth, Ky; Uncle Ross Reynolds, St Clair, Mi; aunts: Irene Akes, Leon, Bessie Reynolds, Clarence, Mo.; and Reva Van Horn, Ottumwa, Iowa.
The family suggests memorials to First Presbyterian Church, Marysville, or the American Heart Fund.
