Harry Richard Reynolds, son of Harry H. Reynolds of Garden Grove, IA and the late May Reynolds, was born in Eden Township, Decatur County, Iowa, November 16, 1921 and died in Sacramento, Calif. August 25, 1970 at the age of 48 years.
He enlisted in the National Guard December 30, 1940 and was called into active service February 10, 1941. While serving in the North African, European and Middle Eastern Theatres, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, American Defense Service Ribbon, European-African, Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon, with Silver Service Star (Equal to 5 campaigns), and six overseas bars. Corporal Reynolds served as a heavy mortar crewman with Company D, 133rd Infantry, 34th (Redbull) Division. He was honorably discharged June 19, 1945.
Surviving are his widow Memorie M. Reynolds; father and step-mother; four brothers, Elmer, Marysville, Calif.; Clair, Baldwin Park, Calif.; SFC Harley, Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Ind.; Max, Martindale, Iowa; six sisters, Nadine Baker and Retha McLain, Des Moines, Iowa; Edith Franklin, Winchester, Ill., Iva Robertson, Benton City, Wash.; Teresa West, Osceola, Iowa; Lorraine Sissel, Falmouth, Ky.; three stepsons, Charles, Delbert and William Watkins, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Those attending the funeral service for Harry Richard Reynolds of Sacramento, Calif, at Sunset Lawn Funeral Chapel, Rio Linda, Calif., were his father Harry Reynolds, Garden Grove; sisters Edith, Teresa, Retha and Nadine; brother Harley and niece Jane Franklin.
