Graveside services were held Tuesday, Nov. 2 at New Woodlawn Cemetery in Pipestone.
Dorothy Fisher was born to Theral and Frieda (Johannsen) Duffus on Nov. 11, 1916 in Pipestone where she was raised and attended school. Following her graduation from Pipestone High School in 1934 she attended the Dunwoody School of Business in Minneapolis.
She married Charles Fisher on July 27, 1940 in Pipestone. Following their marriage she worked for many years for the telephone company and eventually became the chief operator. She subsequently worked for the local ASCS office until her retirement.
On Jan. 17, 1975, Charles preceded her in death. Following his death, she continued to reside in Pipestone.
She was a member of Peace United Methodist Church in Pipestone.
She is survived by her two children, James (Joyce) Fisher, Winona and Susan (Dwight) Overbeek, Cambridge; three grandchildren; two great-grandsons and one brother, Robert (Janet) Duffus, Brandon, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; and her son, Thomas Fisher.
