Verna Wade Cook

Mrs. Verna Wade Cook, 96, of Williamsville, a retired nurse, died March 24, 2007 at the Attala County Nursing Center in Kosciusko.

Visitation is Monday, March 26, 6-7 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Cook was born Feb. 12, 1911 in McCool. She was a nurse at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of Chapel Hill Methodist Church. Her hobbies included sewing, especially quilting, and flower gardening. She also loved and cared for her many pets.

She is survived by a son, Boyd Wade Cook (Joyce) of Olatha, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Arthur M. "Jo" Cook of Kosciusko; grandchildren, Leondra Cook Burson (Chris) of Midlothian, Texas, Wade Nichols Cook (Tracey) of Olathe, Kan., Joyce Cook Olsen (Jeff) of Olathe, Kan., Arthur Leon Cook (Jennie) of Koscisuko and Michael Olyn Cook of Greenwood; six great-grandchidlren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maxwell Leon Cook, an infant daughter, brother, Boyd Wade, and her son, Arthur M. Cook.
Rev. Jim Garner will officiate.
