Micheal Gene Burroughs 49 of Chouteau, died Monday, jan. 31 2000 at the Mayes County Medicial Center. Burroughs was born May 24, 1950 in Enid to Ernest M. and Velma D. Burroughs.
Burroughs worked as a coal yard shift supervisor with Grand River Dam Authority for 20 years. He married Marcia Eline Newman on July 8, 1968 in Vinita. He was a little league baseball coach in Chouteau and Pryor and loved to hunt and fish.
Burroughs was preceded in death by his father. Ernest M. Burroughs, and a sister, Anita Nail. He is survived by his wife of the home; children MaichelleMartin and husband Jimmy of Chouteau, and Marlon Burroughs and wife Heather of Pryor; mother-in-law Dolores Newman of Pryor; sisters Darlyne Myers and husband Lloyd of Vinita, Susan Parker and husband Ron of Missouri, and Cindy Palmer and husband Garold of Grove; brothers, Darrell Burroughs and wife Mary of Langley. Phillip Burroughs and wife Janet of Miami, and Doyle Burroughs and wife Teresa of Fort Gibson; two grandchildren. Jacob L. Martin and Kimberlin S. Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will gather at Luginbuel Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-7 p.m. for family and friends.
Fureral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Cowboy Junction. the Rev. Ralph Heiney and Pastor Ken Macken will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Stoll, Steve Stough, Tim Davenport, Darrell Taylor, Brent McSpadden, Harold Ritter, Russ Mibb and Mike Kissee,. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Fureral arrangements are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Service of Vinita.
