Judith Darlyne (Burroughs) Myers, 70 year-old Vinita resident, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, went to be with her Lord Thursday, June 9, 2011, after an extended stay in the hospital. She was born Feb. 26, 1941, to Ernest and Velma Burroughs.
She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was one of the greatest advice givers there was, family or not. She never met a stranger. She loved being a house wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Nancy Lynn Myers Parker; sons, Bruce Wayne Myers, and Stoney Myers; great-grandson Loyd W. Johnson; step-father, Fred Haegert; brothers, Micheal and Phillip Burroughs; and sister, Anita Nail.
Survivors include: her loving husband Loyd "Chig" Myers of the home; her children; son, Loyd E. Myers, daughters, Becky Myers, Roxie Ballew, Diane Myers, Susan and husband Charlie Breshears, and Kristina and Tristan Myers, all of Vinita; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters and their husbands; two brothers and their wife's; two sisters-in-laws, and numerous other family and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, June 14, from 5-7 p.m., at Burckhalter Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 15, at 10 a.m., at the White Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Freddie Griffin officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Latasha Westbrook, Quintin Westbrook, Donnie Martin, Tim Martin, Charlie Breshears, Bob Porter, Ernie Thomas and Park Carter.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jake Rose and Haskell Smith.
Interment will follow at Williams Timber Hill Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Home.
