Chet was the son of the 2nd marriage of Franklin H Boardman to Susan B Morris. Chet was a bootlegger in the 30's,worked construction, farmed, road grader, and later a county supervisor, and loved his horses. He married Gertrude Noecker in 1921 and they had 11 children, three who died at birth. Chet and Gert were in a nursing home in Denison, IA where their daughter, Alice Dirks, worked and assisted in their care.
