In the 1850 census, the Donnelly family was living in District 97 of Rush County, Indiana. They apparently moved to Missouri within the next 17 years, as Amanda was married in Adair County, Missouri on December 25, 1867 to Francis M. Swisher (1847-1871). They had two sons: Benjamin Francis Swisher 1869-1940

Amanda's husband Francis Swisher died in 1871 at the age of 24. Two years later, on July 20, 1873, Amanda married William Daniels, a widower in the community who had 7 children. William was affectionately known as "Old Bill" Daniels as he had a son named Billy. Old Bill's wife Lucinda (Beets) had died in 1872, leaving him with these 7 children who ranged in age from 13 to 2 years old. Amanda stepped in and helped raise these children:

Both are buried at Pratt Cemetery. - Written by Blytha (Dennis) Ellis whose husband Donald Ervin Ellis is the great great nephew of Lucinda (Beets) Daniels.
