Six-Week Fight With Death Ends As Mrs. Morris Passes Beyond

The brave fight which Mrs. Carrie Morris had made for the past six weeks, the struggle to survive against the terrible odds and the weeks of excruciating pain which she bore so bravely, hoping that she might in time overcome the effects of the accident which occurred some six weeks ago all came to an end on Christmas morning, when the slender thread of life, to which the sufferer had clung so bravely, and which had been guarded so closely by loved ones, gave way and death came as the inevitable.

The many friends of the Morris family know of the sad circumstances which led to the death of the wife and mother and their sincerest sympathy has been with them for weeks although each and all hoped, against hope that she might live to give her family the home and love they had always enjoyed.

Carrie Norris was born in Martinsburg, Indiana, in June, 1889, and after marrying R. E. Morris in 1908, they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they made their home until coming to Chandler six years ago. She is survived by her mother, three sisters and two brothers, all living in Martinsburg, Indiana, and a sister in Dinuba, California, and her husband, R. E. Morris, and five children, Glen, Gladys, Margaret, Elna and Donald, all of Chandler.

Funeral services were conducted from the Gibbon's Undertaking Parlors on Monday, December 26, with Rev. Huddleston, pastor of the Church of Christ of Glendale, conducting the service. The body was then laid to rest in the Mesa cemetery.
