Mr. Edward Gale Bonifay, 100, died Thursday morning in a local nursing home.
Mr. Bonifay was a native and lifelong resident of Pensacola and a member of the Cathedral of Sacred Heart. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus and a veteran of the Spanish American War. Mr. Bonifay had been honored for 77 years service in the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include a daughter, Faustina Moore of Pensacola; a son, C. W. Bonifay of Louisville, Ken.; seven grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Fisher-Pou Funeral Service Chapel with Father Luke Hunt Officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Ala., with the John-Ridout Funeral Home directing.
The body will be sent to the John-Ridout Funeral Home chapel Saturday for burial.
