Mildred R. Reese
Mildred R. Reese, 95, of Lancaster, formerly of Lititz, died Friday January 22, 2010 at the Landis Homes. She was the wife of the late Edward G. Reese who died in 1990. They were married July 2, 1939.
Born in Lancaster County, Mildred was the daughter of the late Aaron and Mabel Keller Rye. She was a graduate of the Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing. A homemaker, Mildred had worked as a registered nurse at both Lancaster General Hospital and in private duty. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and served as Past-Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mildred enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was an avid Penn State Football Fan.
She is survived by four sons, Edward G. Reese, II, and his wife Kathryn of West Grove and their children, Scott and Remy Reese, and Emily and Keith Pfaff; James D. and Sandra Reese of Lancaster and their children John and Jillian Reese, Kathryn and Kurt Williams and Amy and Dan Ramirez; Richard W. and Nada Reese of Lancaster and their children, Brandon, Jordan and Stephanie Reese; Timothy J. and Pat Reese of Lancaster and their children, Jason, Christopher and Sara Reese. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by her brother, James Rye.
At Mildred's request, private services and interment in Longenecker's Reformed Mennonite Cemetery were held on Sunday, January 24, 2010.
