'Warfields of Maryland', by Joshua Dorsey Warfield, 1898, Pg 15:
"My evidence of the Christian name of Richard Warfield's wife is found in the Testamentary and Chancery proceedings of 1679, in the case of Major Edward Dorsey, who married Sarah, daughter of Nicholas Wyatt, versus Thomas Bland, who married Damaris Wyatt, the widow of Nicholas Wyatt. Among the many neighbors of Nicholas Wyatt, as witnesses of his intention in making his will, I find 'Richard and Elen Warfield'. Major Edward Dorsey therein stated that Richard Warfield had bought lands of Nicholas Wyatt."

'Compendium of American Genealogy', Vol IV, Pg 344:
"10-Capt. John Browne, from Eng., 1659, settled nr. Crownsville, Anne Arundel Co., Md.; granted 500 acres of land for bringing in settlers.

NOTE:
Recent research has determined Mary Holmes is not the mother of Elinor. Mary Holmes married Reverend John Browne of Providence RI. The husband of Mary Holmes died in 1677, the father of Elinor died in the winter of 1699, his will proved in Mar 1700, administered in England by his father.

Her mother most likely was Mary Stevenson, but this has not yet been verified; there is no scanned copy of this record on Ancestry ~
