Amos and the Hallam family came to the United States on the same boat arriving in New York City November 12,1852. He married Sarah Ann Hallam November 11, 1854 in Lorain County, Ohio. In the fall of 1856 they emigrated in a covered wagon to Tabor, Iowa, and moved back to Michigan in 1864, where they remained until 1881, when they came to Mills County.
They were the parents of Frederick G. Meeks, Alice (Meeks) Schwinderman, Jennie (Meeks) Flood of Calif., Maude (Meeks) Flynn and Lizzie Meeks who died at the age of six months.
