Rev. Adolph Bruder was born in Germany, ordained and worked there for 15 years before coming to Buffalo, New York in the United States. He was Assistant pastor at Our Lady of Sorrows Church before he was appointed pastor at Sacred Heart, Bennington Center (13 years), then pastor of St. Mary Church in New Oregon for 19 years before he retired. He never took a vacation because "I've always been happy with my work. In all those years I have always found happiness, although not always joy, in being a priest.... but I never felt that I wanted to get away from my work."
