Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Rehobeth United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Ryan proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Navy. He was an active member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church where he has served in various capacities through the years. He was also a member of the Fellowship Sunday School class and the United Methodist Men at the church. Howard served with the Greensboro Police Department from 1950 - 1969 and he went on to retire from Libby Hill Restaurant on Randleman Road. And he always kept up with his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves.
Mr. Ryan is preceded in death by his parents, Lonie and G.C. (Cleveland) Ryan; his sisters, Gladys Ryan Hodgin and Arta Mae Bishop; and brothers, Wallace, Robert, Bill and Raymond Ryan.
He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-three years, Louise Stanley Ryan; daughter, Susan Ryan Farkas of Greensboro; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Donna Ryan of Kernersville; sisters, Mildred Jones and Louise Ryan; a host of nieces and nephews; and his cherished "grandbeagles".
