Goss Rites Slated Providence Church for This Morning

Services will be held at Providence church this (Thursday) morning at 10 for Jesse V. Goss, retired farmer & church leader in the Carmack community of Attala County, who died at the Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital Tuesday after a month's illness. He was 85.

Funeral arrangements will be directed by Jordan Funeral Home with burial in Providence cemetery.

Mr. Goss, son of the late W.J. & Harriet Bush Goss, was born April 19, 1872 in Hill County, Texas. He had made his home in Attala County for about 60 years. He was a member of Shiloh Methodist church & active in church work.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Hassie Tyler Goss, Vaiden; 7 sons, R.W. & Clyde Goss, Memphis, C.H. Goss, Minter City, Troy Goss, Morris Goss, Noel Goss, all of Vaiden, & Lloyd Goss, Marks; 2 daughters,Mrs. Nannie Mae Standard, Corsieana, Texas, Mrs. Harry Greer, West, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Stella Standard, Grand Prairie, Texas; 3 brothers, S.K. Goss, Vaiden; John Goss, Clarksdale & Charlie Goss, Kosciusko; 3 sisters, Mrs. Sallie Crook, Vaiden; Mrs. Hattie Mae Hodges, Greenville & Mrs. Minnie Lou Standard, Batesville; 35 grandchildren & 37 great-grandchildren.
