Mrs. A. S. [Emeline] Reynolds died Sunday night, October 30, at the Keokuk county hospital, following an illness of 10 weeks.
She was born on May 20, 1878, at Richland, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hayworth. Her mother died when she was 10 days old and she was reared in the H. H. Nelson home at Richland.
On August 22, 1900, she married A. S. Reynolds at Richland. Mr. Reynolds had a furniture and undertaking business in Ollie and in 1917 they moved to Sigourney, where he opened the Reynolds Funeral Home, which was sold to Irvin H. Reynolds in 1935.
They were parents of one son, Harry, who was associated with the business until his death in 1932.
Mrs. Reynolds was a member of the Christian church in Sigourney.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Meriam [Miriam] Little, wife of Lt. Col Richard E. Little of Manila, Philippines; four great grandchildren; Mike, Linda, Debra and Diane Little; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in 1946; son Harry; three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 o'clock at the Christian church, with the Rev. Kirby Fuller officiating. Mrs. Gene Butler will be organist and Mrs. George Mullinnix, soloist. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove cemetery. The Reynolds Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Casket bearers are, James Barlow, Norman Collins, Ralph Goeldner, C. J. Mertz, William A. Jacobs and George Mullinnix.
