Millard Hicks

ALGER - Millard (Peachie) Hicks, 58, of Rt. 1, died Sunday afternoon at his home following a lengthy illness.

Born Jan. 23, 1918 in Floyd County, he was a son of Alfred and Dora Bolen Hicks. He married Girlie Prater, who died in 1959. He later married Frankie Hall Stanley, who survives.

Other survivors include a stepson, Howard Stanley of Rt. 1; three step-grandchildren; five brothers, Elbert of Kenton, Lawrence of Langley, Ky., John of Rosewood, Bert of North Manchester, Ind., and Orville of Rt. 1, Belle Center; and two sisters, Mrs. Anglo (Millie) Dudley of Langley, Ky., and Mrs. Bernard (Polly) Hayes of Ann Arbor, Mich.

He was a past member of the Civilian Conservation Corps.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Hanson Funeral Home, Rev. Harold Bouling officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
