Alzo M. Coon was born October 7, 1911 in Tilden, Nebraska. She grew up and attended school in Tilden, graduating from high school. She married Darwin Coon in 1932 in Sioux City. The couple lived in Sioux City, then later moved to California, Omaha, Nebraska, and back to Sioux City in 1970, where she had resided ever since. She was employed with Community Chest while residing in Omaha. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Sioux City and Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards.
Survivors include three nephews and their wives, Ron and Jean Coon of Sioux City, Jan and Charlotte Coon of Sioux City and Mission, Texas, and Michael and Linda Coon of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and four nieces and their husbands, Janet and Dave Adam, Patsy and John Meier, all of Sioux City, Nyla Jean and Mark Markusen of Long Beach, California, and Diane and Cliff Rehwoldt of Gresham, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Darwin in 1984.
