Copied from a virtual flower note: I met George in 1968 at the age of 15 when I began working at the Decatur, Al. Western Auto store. George was much older than me but we were very close and had some fun times ... old wallets attached to fishing line that we leave on the sidewalk for pedestrians to see and as they reach to pick it up we pull it away. We played many jokes on the rest of the crew also! I went camping with George and Don to have some of the most enjoyable times of my young life. I remember the wonderful meals that Doris cooked and WOW! What a cook! She was the sweetest lady I ever met and George loved her more than life, never did I witness anything other than pure love between them. Doris gloated on George and he made sure to tell people how much he loved and appreciated her. I remember her bringing George cake to the store while it was fresh and she always had that glimmer in her eye around him and the biggest smile. I say this because it's a testament to who George was as a man, husband and father. I will never forget my good friend and I'm sure he and Doris are eternally happy together ! Rest in peace my good friend ! -- Left by Benny on 22 Apr 2013
