Mary Aikins was born in Ralston, Iowa, to Ed and Emma Blackley. She was 100 years of age and enjoyed her 100th birthday at Saint Mark's Lutheran Church July 3, 2009.
m.1973 Ray Aikins. They both chose to move to Roswell to play golf and enjoy the area. Ray preceded her in death. Mary was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

At age 22, she went to Milwaukee, to live with her sister. Stayed in and around Milwaukee until moving to Roswell in 1974. Mary worked most of her life, retiring just prior to the move to Roswell.

Mary was a member of the Spring River Ladies Golf Association, the Roswell Ladies Golf League and the Southeastern Golf Association and a long-standing member of Senior Circle. She played golf until a hip injury at 95 years of age stopped her playing.

Volunteered for many organizations including the Red Cross, RSVP, and the Welfare to Work Clothing Boutique for women.

Mary was known and loved by many people. Lived her life to the fullest. Survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held March 6, 2010, at 11 a.m., at St Mark's Lutheran Church, 2911 N. Main St., with a lunch to follow in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Mark's Lutheran Church.
