Joyce Mott Blanchard, 76, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in a Welsh care center. Ms. Joyce was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church all of her life. She was a self-employed Beautician and the owner of Joyce's Beauty Boutique for 37 years. She enjoyed cooking and being around family and friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Survivors include her sons, Johnny Blanchard and wife, Patricia of Basile, Tommy Blanchard of Dequincy; daughters, Kathy Guidry and husband, Gary of Welsh, Mary Palmer and husband, Ronnie of Vinton; sister, Julie Schexnider of Esterwood; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Blanchard; two brothers; two sisters; 1 grandchild, Patrick Blanchard and 1 great grandchild, Haven Bennett. Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church of Welsh. Father Herbert May will officiate. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday 8 a.m. til time of service.
