She was born in Sheffield, PA, and was the daughter of the late Leroy R. Meeder and Mary Jane Paul Meeder. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Henry E. Pigg. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a long career as a restaurant owner and was a member of Knotts Island United Methodist Church.
Charlotte is survived by 6 children, Johnny M. Belch and wife Terri of Lakewood, CA, Donna Hoover and husband Bill of Madison, IL, Barbara Banta and husband Casey of VeVay, IN, Susan Johnson and husband Jody of Knotts Island, NC, James Belch and wife Carla of Virginia Beach, VA and Michelle Lewis and husband Richard of Elizabeth City, NC; 5 sisters, Betty, Pat, Alice, Myrt and Mimi; a brother, Jack; 19 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and many loving friends. She was predeceased by two daughters, Harriet and Ruthie; and a son, Richard.
Funeral service Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, in Knotts Island United Methodist Church by Pastor David Cunningham. Burial will follow in Knotts Island United Methodist Church Cemetery.
