CHINA GROVE - Margaret "Snook" Tutherow Smith Basinger, age 69, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at her home. Mrs. Basinger was born Jan. 27, 1937, in Rowan County to the late Lloyd and Edna Reynolds Tutherow. Educated in the Rowan County schools, she was a member of Landis Baptist Church and the Ladies Missionary Sunday School Class. She had worked for Corlin Processing and China Grove Textiles before retiring from Wal-Mart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie M. Smith Sr., in 1979, brother Paul Tutherow and sister Delores Faggart. Survivors include her husband, Charlie L. Basinger; son Charlie M. Smith Jr. (Irene) of China Grove; daughter Lydia S. Black (Doug) of Salisbury; stepsons Terry L. Basinger and Jeffrey C. Basinger, both of Salisbury; stepdaughter Bunni B. Menius (Alan) of Salisbury; brother Clifford Tutherow (Norma) of Kannapolis; sisters Ruth Hames and Polly Tutherow, both of China Grove; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services : 11 a.m. Saturday at Landis Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Billy Honeycutt, pastor, and the Rev. Ricky Brown. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior the service. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation : 6-8 tonight at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Memorials : Memorials may be made to Rowan Regional Home Health & amp; Hospice, 825-A W. Henderson St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
