Born in Lynn, she lived 25 years in Southampton. She was a graduate of Marblehead High School and UMass/Amherst.
She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Amherst, and a former member of the Clifton Lutheran Church, Marblehead.
She was president of the teacher's association in Easthampton.
She is survived by her parents, Harold and Effie Armstrong of Marblehead; a sister, Jeanne E. Armstrong of Marblehead; a brother, William H. Armstrong of Hollywood, Fla.; and a close friend, Fred Carney of Southampton.
