"Hortonville - One of the largest funerals ever held in Hortonville, was that of Thomas Dunn, village marshal for 25 (?) years who was killed by an automobile Sunday. It took place Thursday afternoon from the Baptist church. The sermon was delivered by the Rev. Thomas Goldsworthy and he was assisted by the Rev. Holland.

"The choir from the New London Methodist church furnished singing. The church was so crowded that a large number of people were unable to get inside.

"Bearers were Edward Kluge, J.P. Platten, Raymond Ritger, William Wolf, Isadore Scholl, all members of the village board,and John McMurdo, deputy marshal.

"All places of business in Hortonville were closed during the time of the funeral.

"A large number of relatives and friends from surrounding towns and cities were present."
