Alexander Allerdice was born on Sept. 22, 1883 (date per the interment records) (baptismal records show a birth date of July 22, 1882) in Lonaconing, Maryland, to Alexander Allerdice, Sr. and Jennet Bulloch. He had several brothers and sisters - Janet, Thomas, Robert, James, Agnes, and Hellen. He was a coal miner per the 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930 census records. He enlisted into the U.S. Army for WW1 in 1917 and was severely wounded in 1918 and returned to the U.S. and was discharged in 1919. He was committed to the Veteran's Hospital at Perry Point, Maryland, Hospital in 1933 and remained there until his death on Oct. 22, 1945.
