Lois S. Christianson was born in 1926 to the parents of Alton and Agnes Hier. Her brother, Donald Hier was a fighter pilot in the US Air Force. He died in 1953 when the plane he piloted crashed during a test flight. Lois met Carl Milo Christianson when he returned home after being a POW during WWII. Carl was captured during the Battle of the Bulge and remained a POW until liberated at the end of the war. When Carl came home, he met a beautiful young nurse who was caring for his critically ill mother at the time. They married in August of 1947. They had three sons together, Thomas, Mark and Paul Christianson. Carl Milo was the love of her life.
