Jasper Balsley, 90, died Sunday, April 9, at the home of his daughter, Pearl, in Cedar Falls.
Jasper Balsley was born February 9, 1860, to Alfred and Hanna Lucretia Balsley on a farm in Mitchell county. Mr. Balsley was a pioneer resident of Mitchell county and lived all his life here except the last two years, which were spent with his daughter in Cedar Falls. He was active in community and civic affairs and a member of the Methodist church for 50 years.
March 28, 1881, he was united in marriage to Ella Ruth Yount. Four daughters and two sons were born to this union.
