Mrs. Sarah Anderson died Sunday night at the family residence at the corner of Edward and William streets. She was one of the oldest people in Decatur, being 92 years of age. Mrs. Anderson though not strong was in comparatively good health until last Wednesday. Then she took a heavy cold that developed in bronchitis and she became steadily worse. Mrs. Anderson's mind remained clear to the last.
She was born near Belleville, Aug, 25, 1811 and her entire life was spent in Illinois. She came to Decatur in 1868. She was married to Samuel Anderson, Aug 18, 1841. Her husband died Oct. 5, 1888. She was the mother of six children, only three of whom are alive. They are Josephine A., Nannie A Anderson and Mrs. Elliott of Mattoon.
The funeral will be held from the residence at 3:00 Tuesday afternoon.
