Mrs. Caroline Maley Brown was born in Van Buren county, Iowa, June 9th, 1857, and passed from this life, April 22nd, 1930, having reached the age of 72 years, 9 months and 2[3] days.

Mrs. Brown spent her life in Van Buren county until 1914, when she took up her residence in the Odd Fellows Home at Mason City, Iowa.

On August 1st, 1875, she was united in marriage to John J. Nalley [sic], who preceeded [sic] her in death in 1917. To this union were born four children, two boys and two girls. Three of the children died in infancy.

There are left to mourn, her husband, Thomas M. Brown of Mason City to whom she was married in 1922. Alson [sic] one daughter, Mrs. Neidig of Bellevue, Iowa, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mrs. Brown united with the Methodist church early in life and was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge No. 309 of Cantril.
