During that period her father had come to Kansas and homesteaded a farm seven miles north of Ada, so in 1877 the rest of the family came here to join him.
She was married to William Yager in June, 1886 and they lived in the Ada community for a time. Their first daughter, now Josie Darrow, was born here. Shortly afterwards they went to Oklahoma and lived for several years, but came back to the Ada community with their family in 1909. Mr. Yager died in 1929, but the family continued to live there.
Mrs. Yager continued to live in Ada until just a few years ago, when she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Kunc, north of Ada. She passed away Tuesday, November 5, at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 17 days. Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by four sons, three grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She is survived by two sons, William Charles, of Ada, and Joseph, who lives in the north part of the county; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Kunc, who also lives north of Ada and Mrs. Josie Darrow, who lives in Glasco. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, James Kunc of Oklahoma City, Okla., and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church in Ada last Friday afternoon with the Rev Joseph Buckles in charge. Mrs. Ray Coatney and Mrs. Gib Bacon sang, with Mrs. Walter Wood at the piano. Pallbearers were all grandsons, Roger Yager, Keith Yager, Arthur Darrow, John Yager. Interment was made in the Bohemian National Cemetery.
