Ralph and his four brothers, and perhaps their father, relocated from Newtown, Queens Co., Long Island, NY, to old Hopewell Township, NJ, in the 1700-1710 period. Hopewell was then in Burlington County and became part of Hunterdon County when it was formed in 1714. The township originally encompassed the present-day municipality with this name as well as Hopewell and Pennington boroughs, Ewing Township, and most of the city of Trenton.
Ralph owned a farm on the road from Ewingville to Lawrenceville. He is referred to as of Trenton Township in his will and is presumed to have died there, in the area now Ewing Township. He left an estate valued at £366.14.4.
His burial on 30 July 1749 is recorded in the First Presbyterian Church of Trenton, hence the memorial here. It is unclear as to whether his remains would have been laid to rest in the burial ground of the present Trenton church or at what is now the First Presbyterian Church of Ewing. No gravestone survives for him in either location.
Ralph and Sarah Furman Hart had at least 10 children, as follows:

3. Sarah, born 13 Mar. 1706, married Robert Akers;
