CHAPMAN, JOHN N. age 84 yrs. died Friday, in Jan 1934 at Luray, Va. Children, Virginia Chapman, Carrie Wood w/o John W. Wood, Bessie Capitaine w/o W. G. Capitaine & David Coffman Chapman. A son, W. Allen Chapman of Waterloo, Iowa, died several yrs. ago & 3 children were lost in infancy. His wife, Mrs. Jane Catherine Coffman Chapman d/o David Coffman & sister of Mrs. Bettie McKim, died 19 Jan 1920. Married 30 Jun 1874. Deceased brothers & sisters, Col. William Chapman of Greensboro, NC., Samuel Chapman of Covington, Va. Both were Confederate soldiers, John N. Chapman, G. T. Chapman & Edmund Chapman, Mrs. Bettie Carter, Misses Kate & Annie Chapman. Andrew J. Chapman is the only surviving sibling. Mr. Chapman was born 24 Jan 1849 at Luray, Va. s/o William A. Chapman from Madison Co. and who married Elizabeth Forrer d/o Samuel Forrer. Burial in Green Hill Cemetery. (PNC)
