Bonnie Belle Hamilton Barnett, 90, 211 Stockton Road, Roan Mountain, died Wednesday, January 13, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.


Mrs. Barnett was a native of Clay County, N.C., and the daughter of the late Rev. James Robert and Rebecca Arlesia Lowe Hamilton. She was also preceded in
death by a son, Leslie Barnett, two brothers and two sisters.


Mrs. Barnett was a member of Cove Creek Presbyterian Church and had worked as a cook from 1946-1950 at Cloudland High School. She attended school at
Lees-McRae in Banner Elk, N.C.


Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Bert Barnett, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Wayne and June Dale Barnett, Elizabethton; a daughter
and son-in-law, Wynona and Joe Holland, Elizabethton; two sisters, Ethel Wilkie, Franklin, N.C., and Ellavee Jory, Murphy, N.C.; a special niece, Dorothy Shuffler,
Roan Mountain; four grandsons; four granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and five great-granddaughters. Several nieces and nephews and special friends,
Dana and Mildred Holtsclaw, Bristol, also survive.


Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, is in charge of arrangements.



BARNETT -- Funeral services for Bonnie Belle Hamilton Barnett, 90, 211 Stockton Road, Roan Mountain, who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.
Friday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, with Rev. Roger Stocton and Mr. Spence Stocton officiating. Music will be under the
direction of the Stocton Trio. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Barnett Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Gary Stocton,
Barry Stocton, LeRoy Stocton, Lawrence Roberts, Clarence Barnett and Stuart Dyer. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Housecall Home Health,
Dr. Wesley Hanson and employees of Roan Mountain Medical Clinic, Appalachian Neurosurgical Clinic, friends at Roan Highlands Nursing Center and friends
of Meals on Wheels. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Saturday for the graveside service. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Friday at the funeral home. Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, is in charge of arrangements.
