Harold Virgil Stickel, the oldest of 13 children born to the late Harold Barney and Grace Tharp Stickell, was born March 7, 1919 at Bunker Hill, West Virginia. He passed away after a lengthy illness in St. Johns Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, on Saturday, March 1, 2008, making his age 88 years. Harold served in the Army during World War II. Harold worked as an inspector for Grumman Aerospace, Houston, Texas, and also at the aerospace center in St. Augustine, Florida. He retired from Grumman Aerospace. In 1995, Harold moved to Eminence, Missouri. Preceding Harold in death are his son, Lester Stickel, brothers, Richard Stickell and Gilbert Stickel, and sisters, Sylvia Shiplett, Pearl Pearson and Ruth Godown.
Survivors: Partner, Sharon Snipes of Eminence; sons, Joe, Harold; daughter, Carol Rick; sisters, Madeline Cholwek, June Symonds, Joyce Bishop, Marie Bayne, Lorena Boos; brothers, Earl, Waldo; host of grandchildren, including great and great-great; many nieces, nephews; many other family members.
Services: Private memorial, will be held with the family at a later date. Cremation services were under the care of Bradford Funeral Home, Summersville, Mo.
