6 April 1942: George A. Shanaman, a well known resident of Myerstown Rural Route 2, on the back road to Myerstown near Prescott, died at his home this morning. He was aged 68 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church at Millbach. He leaves his wife, Ida (Spangler) Shanaman; a son, Harry, of Myerstown Route 3; four daughters, Mrs. Henry Achey, Myerstown RFD 2; Mrs. Harry Haas and Mrs. Monroe Bender, of Fredericksburg; Mrs. Rufus Hower, of Richland, thirteen grandchildren; two brothers, Jacob, of West Lawn, Berks County; and Abraham, of Columbus, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Manbeck, West Wyomissing; Mrs. Charles Alexander, Womelsdorf; Mrs. Jacob Balley, Hamburg, and Miss Ida Shanaman, Reading.
