...Our Precious Companion CrystalBear...

CrystalBear was a beautiful blue merle Australian Shepherd. She had one blue eye and one partly brown eye. She was a gentle spirit. We found her when she was still a pup of around seven months at our local SPCA when they were at the Farmer's Mkt on Mooney Blvd. They found her lost and wandering alone in the fields near Kingsburg.

She always "herded" us from room to room and always woke my husband when it was time for him to get up. She loved to chase a ball, she would also keep track of our little dog when they were outside and she kept our yard free of the stray cats. She loved her "jobs" and did them well and faithfully.

She traveled well and liked staying in the motels and walking along the ocean beach in San Simeon. She was a "people" dog. She loved everyone and they loved her.

For the past several weeks she got very sick and lost a lot of weight very quickly. Today we found out from our vet that she was suffering from kidney failure. One kidney was gone and the other was going. It was very hard for us to let her go, but we knew that it was the best thing for her. She seemed to know it too. Our little dog Jewel is really grieving as they were best buddies. We will all miss her.

We were so lucky to have found this gentle, loving spirit and felt very blessed to have had her in our family.

I miss her every day...
